A hairdressing dresser’s widow has been arrested in California after authorities say she was trying to buy a suitcase full of cash in exchange for a haircut, police said.
The 46-year-old San Francisco woman, who police said is the wife of a hairdresses husband, was arrested Tuesday at a hotel in the San Francisco area, police Lt.
Sean Edwards said.
A federal investigation into her alleged crimes began when her husband’s friend found a $40.9 million bag stuffed with cash and two bags of cash inside her home, the San Jose Mercury News reported.
She was arrested after police spotted her in a hotel room, Edwards said in a statement.
The woman was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering, according to a San Francisco Police Department press release.
